Eric Bailly is targeting an early return from a knee injury as the Manchester United star looks to be back in the first-team by November, according to a report in England.
Website ESPN FC, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Ivory Coast international is hoping to sail through his rehabilitation from a knee problem.
The same article states that the African centre-half hopes to be back training with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United squad within the next two months.
According to the same story, the former Villarreal defender is optimistic that he can secure his spot in Solskjaer’s first-team in November following a successful recovery,
Bailly’s preparations for the new campaign were cruelly cut short when the Ivorian suffered serious knee ligament damage in Manchester United’s pre-season friendly against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Ivory Coast defender was initially tipped to be sidelined until 2020 but Bailly is apparently on course to make a quicker than anticipated recovery from the injury setback.
Bailly is facing increased competition for a starting spot at Manchester United after the Red Devils signed Harry Maguire in an £80m deal from Leicester City in the summer.
Manchester United made the England international the most expensive defender in the world after his transfer fee eclipsed Virgil van Dijk’s £75m price tag.
